19 Garden Layout Considerations

A small garden is built in the courtyard to make the yard poetic and picturesque and highlight the style of the patio. At the same time, the atmosphere can be increased through the rendering of plants, making the life of the owners more colorful.

1 Color: Contrast and complementary colors. Color, hue and tone. Primary colors and light colors are all components of the color factor. Color tone can either make the atmosphere lively or calm emotions, and the final choice depends on personal taste.

2 Texture: smooth, rough, soft, prickly, shiny or fluffy. Try to use high-contrast to mix delicacy with roughness, softness and hardness. Plant leaves, flowers, stems and hard gardening materials all have their unique texture.

3 Fragrance: What is better than roses, jasmines, daphnes, rosemaries or cloves? Just plant some scented plants next to the windows and outdoor seats. There should be some fragrant plants prepared for each season.

4 The murmur of the stream, the jingling of the spring, the chirping of the birds, the sashes of the leaves, or the soft and melodious bells, all can remove the mental disorder and make the heart peaceful.

5 Tactile sensation: From plush leaves to ticklish leaves of decorative grass, they all mean the existence of touching and even caressing. Don't forget the touch of ancient trees, smooth pebbles and other inanimate materials.

6 Function: How to use the space in the garden? As a playground for children? Planting vegetables? Used as a rest meditation? Or outdoor entertainment? It should design for a particular purpose. Don't forget the use of natural materials, like fallen leaves and compost.

7 Light: Pay attention to the condition of the sun and the shade in the garden. Under the light of the night, the flowers become translucent, and the green light plants are glittering. For a hot summer climate, tall trees can be planted to create a shade.

8 Style: Node garden, boxwood floor bed, brick paving, stakes fence, all of which form the style of the garden. The more time and effort it takes, the more perfect. Sometimes small details reinforce the style and can also destroy the style.

9 Form: Consider the three-dimensional shape of the plants in order to obtain changes. They may be round, cylindrical, divergent, wavy, or fountain-like. Hard gardening materials and garden decorations also have their own shapes.

10 Contrast: Contrast to attract attention and get the enjoyment of the soul. Small contrast can act as a calming agent, and great contrast can be exciting. Color, structure, shape and brightness can be used for comparison.

11 Perspective: From what perspective do you view your garden? From the platform, through the windows, or on the flat ground? Is it a clear view or different views? The perspective changes the way you see the garden.

12 Momentum: How do you go through the garden? Is it a ramble along the winding path, or rushing through the straight road? The functions determine their shapes.

13 Change: When the trees grow up, the original sunny environment becomes shade, and the perennial plants in the garden grow larger and larger. The soft morning light will turn into a dazzling afternoon light, the flowers will become fruits, and the changes in the garden should be fully prepared.

14 Orientation: Find the compass and find the north. How do you arrange the orientation of your house and garden? Remember that the shade of a season may turn into a bright sunny environment in other seasons.

15 Personality: Traditional flowers, carousels, spherical vessels, regular Italian architecture, ancient architecture pieces or delightful garden sculptures. Which one is more meaningful to you? Let people know that this is your garden at a glance.

16 Focus: The waterfall at the end of the trail, the red maple mixed in the flower border, and the beautiful flowerpot at the door create a restful view for the eyes. Be cautious when choosing focus landscapes. Excessive focus will only become disorganized.

17 Ecology: Introduce some wild plants. Plant some indigenous plants, select plants that can produce high yields and self-circulation as much as possible, and use less hard landscapes.

18 Sense: The garden should be coordinated with the local landscape. Use native plants or local stone materials, using locally used expressions. At the same time, add something with your own personal characteristics to form a unique garden that belongs only to you.

19 Architecture: To match the garden with the building. Reuse the same theme, shape, color, style, and building materials, and integrate the architecture into the garden by using yard, platform, tree, balcony, fence and other things.
